I’m a 36-year-old father of four with an undying passion for the game of basketball and the culture that surrounds it. Growing up around the game, I’ve seen firsthand how basketball has the power to bring people together, build confidence, create friendships, and strengthen communities. At the same time, I’ve also noticed the growing toxicity surrounding the sport — violence, disrespect, and negativity — and that’s exactly what inspired me to create PYOW (Play Your Own Way).

PYOW was built to create the opposite environment: a place where real hoopers, families, athletes, and communities can come together through positivity, competitiveness, respect, and love for the game. Through the PYOW 3x3 Hoop Takeover, I’m looking to bring back the energy and excitement of classic events like Hoop It Up from the 90s, but with a modern-day cultural and entertainment twist. My vision is to build a large-scale basketball festival that starts locally and eventually travels city to city, spreading fun, togetherness, and authentic basketball culture everywhere it goes.
